How to pick a good helicopter tour
- Doors-off flights give the clearest photos but are cooler and louder; bring a jacket.
- Seat allocation is often by weight. Ask whether a window seat is guaranteed.
- Book early in your trip: low cloud and rain cause cancellations, and you'll want time to rebook.
- Compare flight time, not the whole booking time. Check-in and safety briefings add 30 to 60 minutes.
